In a sign that the backlash against the media for its adoring coverage of Barak Obama may have begun, the Washington Post had an editorial today that ripped Barak Obama on his International Ego Trip.  The Post correctly points out that contrary to claims by most on the left, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki does not agree with Barak Obama’s plan for withdrawal of Amerian forces from his country.  In addition, the Post points out that General Petraeus does not agree with Obama either.

A recent report found that since June the nightly newscasts of NBC, CBS, and ABC combined have spent 114 minutes covering Obama. McCain got 48 minutes.

But that was before this week.

The three major television networks are all scheduled to send their nightly news star “anchors” to follow Obama on his trip to Iraq and the Middle East.

When was the last time you saw ANY of the networks do this with Sen. McCain?

A funny thing happened over on the Barack Obama campaign website in the last few days.

The parts that stressed his opposition to the 2007 troop surge and his statement that more troops would make no difference in a civil war have somehow disappeared. John McCain and Obama have been going at it heavily in recent days over the benefits of the surge.

The Arizona senator, who advocated the surge for years before the Bush administration employed it, says the resulting reduction in violence is proof it worked with progress on 15 of 18 political benchmarks and Obama’s plan to withdraw troops by now would have resulted in surrender.

When President Bush ordered the surge in January, 2007, Obama said, “I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there. In fact, I think it will do the reverse,” a position he maintained throughout 2007. This year he acknowledged progress, but maintained his position that political progress was lacking.

Read the Alice Miller excepts that I offered just the other day. Try to understand what is going on here. Try to grasp the immense danger represented by this phenomenon.

The overarching theme to his entire campaign - “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for,” and all that - is that voting for Obama is proof of the cosmic superiority of … Obama voters.

In a speech in Madison, Wis., Obama told his supporters that rallying to his cause was today’s equivalent of the “greatest generation” rallying to defeat Hitler and Tojo. Oprah merely calls him, “The One,” saying he will help us “evolve to a higher plane.”

so, he wants a “civilian security force” for what, exactly? to enforce what, exactly?
